Getting old lines off: line removal

When a layout changes, the old lines have to go. Two sets of lines on the ground confuse drivers and walkers, and the new layout never looks right.

When lines need to come off

  • A car park is laid out again, with spaces moved or added.
  • A warehouse floor changes use, or the racking moves.
  • Lines were marked in the wrong place.
  • Old walkways or arrows no longer lead anywhere.

How we take them off

Faded or wrong lines are blacked out before the new ones go down, so drivers see one clean layout, not two.

On some surfaces we grind the old paint off instead. Which way we go depends on the surface and what's going down next.

Then the new layout

The new layout goes down once the old lines are gone.

We look first

We come out, measure and photograph the site, and send you a written price. Line marking jobs have a minimum charge.
